Well here it is rodeo time in Killeen again. Same show, same abuse. But it is different this year. Last year was the first time the Killeen Daily Herald had a rodeo insert in the paper. We at Assisi also put an ad in. This year no insert, why? Not enough advertisers? Could be the economy? No it’s because people are tired of abuse and the same old show. Advance ticket sales are also down. This is good news for the city of Killeen. The experiment has been tried and it has failed. Also this year we will have finished the 2010 census, results? Killeen has a growing minority population and they do not go to rodeo. This does bring up the question is why would our city support an activity that is all white? Good question, call your city council person and ask them. We already know why, Rodeo is for whites only. On the other hand we did go to Rabbit Fest in the Cove. There were a few things we did not like but overall a good family event and the number of people of all races prove it. To bad Killeen rodeo because all you do is promote cruelty to animals, promote cruelty to animals to kids which is a form of child abuse and you do it all for whites only.  Do your part this year and don’t go. Cowboy down.
